The Second Al Dhannah Skating Championship bringing together skating enthusiasts from across the region to compete in a thrilling showcase of talent and athleticism. Hosted in the vibrant city of Al Dhannah, the event aimed to promote the sport of skating and foster a sense of community among participants and spectators alike.

Participant Categories

The entry of participants for the Al Dhannah Skating Championship 2025: Speed Skating Events, will be categorized based on the following age groups. Participants are requested to fill out the registration form accurately, selecting the correct category according to their Year of Birth.

General Rules and the Important Points to remember before the race.

  • The race pack collection for participants from Ruwais will be on February 14th on the day before the event itself.  For the participants from other places the race pack collection will be on the event day itself. Detailed timing schedule will be posted later.
  • Please do collect the race pack prior to the race begins, and don’t miss the BIB’s given to you.
  • Please remit the registration fee amount of 80 AED/person via online when you do the registration.
  • With single registration fee you can participate in all the events of that particular age category.
  • All participants must be ready at the venue with the skates and guards on at the exact time of the event.
  • We request all the participants to follow the timetable of the competition. Due to the time restrictions, we are having back-to-back competitions. So, if you come late we won’t consider you for the race as there is no time to reschedule a missed event.
  • The time to report at the event venue is given in the detailed schedule. Please be there exactly at the reporting time.
  • Be mindful of the event progress, if an event ends before the stipulated time. The next event will be followed thereafter immediately.
  • Detailed schedule will be posted in the website one day prior to the event.
  • Only drinking water will be provided at the venue.
  • Food and Snacks has to be brought by yourself.
  • Skaters will compete  in heats based on their age category.
  • Starting Position of the skater will be determined by random draw.
  • Skaters will be ranked based on the time of completion of race distance. In each race category Top ranked skaters will qualify to semifinal and thereafter based on the results to the finals.
  • If the number of participants for a particular category and race  is <= to 5 then heats will be considered as finals.
  • At the penultimate lap of all the events (except 1 lap) a bell will be rung to remind you that you are running the last lap.
  • Racing will proceed in an anticlockwise direction.
  • The track is made of asphalt.
  • The number of laps for each race category is as follows: 
    • 1 Lap – Single lap
    • 300 m – 2 laps.
  • Impeding or Blocking: Skaters may be disqualified if they impede or block another skater's progress, either intentionally or unintentionally. This can include actions such as cutting off another skater, blocking their path, or causing them to fall.
  • Dangerous Maneuvers: Skaters may be disqualified for executing dangerous maneuvers that pose a risk to themselves or other participants. This could include reckless skating, aggressive moves, or actions that could lead to collisions.
  • False Starts: Skaters may be disqualified after two false starts, which occur when a skater begins the race before the official start signal.
  • Equipment Violations: Disqualification can result from using equipment that does not meet the competition regulations. This may include improper skates, safety gear violations, or other equipment-related infractions.
  • Failure to Follow Race Rules: Skaters must adhere to the specific rules and guidelines set by the competition organizers. Failure to follow these rules may lead to disqualification.
  • Outside Assistance: Skaters may be disqualified for receiving outside assistance during a race. This includes grabbing onto objects or receiving help from coaches or other non-participants.
  • Interference with Officials: Any interference with race officials, judges, or other event personnel may result in disqualification.
  • Skaters are recommended to use skinsuits/skin tight apparels/ shorts/ T-shirt etc.
  • Loose dresses are not allowed for the competition.
  • Skaters are allowed to use  Only Freestyle skates in the Freestyle Skating event.
  • Each event will have a gold, silver and bronze medal for every event category.
  • All participants except those who won podium medals (Gold, Silver or Bronze) will receive participation medals.
  • Every participant will receive a participation certificate.
